There’s no clear-cut answer, but you can opt for private sessions for any reason your heart desires.
However, I invite you to consider private sessions if any of the following apply to you:
- you’re new or returning to the practice and want a better understanding of yoga poses, i.e. alignment, form, modifications, etc.
- you have an existing practice and want to dive a little deeper
- you are in a state of recovery from illness or injury
- you are working towards an athletic or fitness goal
- life is hectic, stressful, and you simply need some YOU time to rest -
Yoga is both an art and a science, meaning we use practical knowledge and understanding of body mechanics and anatomy as we move, but sometimes that movement changes based on how you are feeling in the present moment.
As a result, you can expect the initial private session to be exploratory in nature, with open dialogue on what feels best for you. We’ll follow the approach discussed in your consultation, keeping in mind we can modify or change that approach, if needed.

This varies based on your needs.
For example, if you’re training for a marathon, we may spend part of a session in longer, static poses, with greater focus on pranayama (breathwork). Or if you’re wanting to work on enhancing overall strength, we might engage in a power-based session. Maybe you’re in a season of life that is overwhelming or abnormally stressful and need rest - we’d likely engage in gentle, restorative sessions.
Again, this is all determined by where you’re at physically, emotionally, and energetically -
This is totally up to you but I recommend starting with at least 3 or 4 sessions. This creates an opportunity for you to apply the knowledge gained during each session and observe the changes experienced however subtle or expansive they may be.

Absolutely! I am able to provide the same level and quality of instruction in an online setting that would be given in-person.

No, all you need is yourself and your mat. However, as with any physical yoga practice, props such as blocks, straps, blankets, etc. may be helpful. During your consultation, we’ll discuss utilizing props based on your needs.
